Today's Vienna is a modern city with cutting edge architecture.


Take a look at the Pritzker Architecture Prize-winner Hans Hollein's controversial Haas Haus (photo) opposite St Stephen's Cathedral or his "winged" roof at the entrance to the Albertina.


Or the campus for the University of Economics and Business (including the library by Zaha Hadid) near the Prater.


Or Friedenreich Hundertwasser's incinerator plant (looks like a cutting-edge building complex with a rotating viewing point) at the Spittelau and his Hundertwasser House public housing project in Vienna's 3rd district to name just two of his better known projects.
